Venezuelan Airport plans to accept payments in cryptocurrencies

According to the local media, the Venezuelan authorities plan to allow the use of cryptocurrencies to pay for tickets and other services at Simón Bolívar International Airport.

The director of the airport, Freddie Borges, said that the adaptation of the payment system has already begun, and soon tourists will be able to pay for tickets and other airport services with Bitcoin, Dash, and El Petro. He also noted that payments will be made in accordance with the rules of the national cryptocurrency regulator. There are other airports in the country that accept payments in digital currencies.

In May this year, the Venezuelan government began to make social transfers in the national cryptocurrency. This innovation was focused on fighting hyperinflation, but inflation and devaluation in the country continue.

Also, this year, it was reported that El Salvador was the first to recognize Bitcoin as legal tender.
