Visa has developed a special program for NFT creators

According to Visa representatives, the main goal of the program is to create educational content that will help artists better understand the industry of non-fungible tokens and learn how to use blockchain networks to develop and sell their NFTs.

The project will run for one year. The core audience is musicians, artists, filmmakers and fashion designers.

The payment system will provide the link between its partners and the creators of non-interchangeable tokens. This will expand the artists’ audience and allow them to sell more of their works and grow their businesses with NFTs.

Visa’s head of crypto Cuy Sheffield noted that the company hopes to understand the problems facing creators and explore how collectible tokens can help them earn money. Moreover, Visa is going to create its own merchantable art tokens in the future.

The company has not yet decided how many artists it will take on training. However, Sheffield believes that the cohort should not be large. Creators interested in attending the program should fill out a special questionnaire and then pass an interview.

The artists, who will participate in the program, will also receive a one-time stipend from Visa. Its size has not yet been reported.

The mentor for the students will be Micah Johnson, a former professional baseball player. After retiring from professional sports, he became an artist and now creates NFTs.

Last year, Johnson created Aku, the NFT which was sold for more than $2 million. The artist thinks that this educational project developed by Visa will help the growth of the NFT industry.

Visa and Johnson agreed to launch an educational program for NFT creators back in October 2021. Earlier, the company purchased an NFT called CryptoPunk #7610 for 150 thousand dollars.

Visa has also launched a consulting service that will help financial organizations, retailers and other clients to navigate in the world of cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
