MetaMask launched a new feature to buy crypto with fiat currency

MetaMask, one of the most popular cryptocurrency wallets, has launched a new feature that allows users to purchase cryptocurrency with fiat currency directly within the wallet. The new function is aimed at making it easier for users to acquire cryptocurrency.

The MetaMask wallet is a browser extension and mobile app that allows users to store and manage their cryptocurrency holdings, as well as interact with decentralized applications (dapps) on the Ethereum network. The wallet has gained popularity in recent years as more people have become interested in using dapps and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

The MetaMask team launched this feature in the Portfolio Dapp application. To use the feature, users need to go to the app, add a wallet and select the “Buy” option. Then they need to choose the country, the payment method, the cryptocurrency and network, and the purchase amount. As soon as the users provide the necessary information, they will be redirected to the website of a third-party provider to complete the transaction. Then the funds will be deposited directly to the MetaMask wallet.

There may be different limits on the purchase of crypto in different regions. In addition, in some countries, users may be asked to complete the verification procedure.

The feature supports various payment methods, including debit or credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers. The service will be available in 189 countries, and the list of available assets includes more than 90 tokens in eight networks.

In the future, the developers plan to increase the number of service providers and expand the list of available payment methods. Over the past years, MetaMask has been actively working with various organizations to attract new users to the platform.

Other companies also seek to make it easier for users to access cryptocurrencies. For example, the developers of the Opera Crypto browser added the support for popular crypto wallets, including MetaMask.
